President’s letter

Céad Míle Fáilte one and all to Barnhall Rugby Football Club

I am greatly honored and privileged to be president of Barnhall R.F.C for 2006/07 Season.

We are now well seasoned to the trials and tribulations of All Ireland League Division two. It is a source of pride that our senior team continue to hold their place at this level. We will keep looking forward, onwards and upwards to success.

Compliments and congratulations to our club captain Eoin Burke, his continuing leadership is an inspiration to all of us in the club. I wish all our captains and coaches and anyone who actively participates with club activities the best of good luck for the season.

To all who wear “The Blue” the best of Luck

We were enthralled with the success of our under 16’s last season, who won all their honors – All Ireland, Leinster Metro. It was an enormous achievement. They have continued already this season with sevenselected in the Leinster youth panel for the first tour to Leeds. Congratulations to everyone involved.

Our youth and mini section continues to be the strongest in the country, thank you to all involved and continued success.

Tag rugby was hosted in the club in the closed season. This was a tremendous success from many aspects. Congratulations to all who contributed.

To our loyal supporters thank you again. The good news for this season is you will be very familiar with CORK after three visits to the “real capital”! Best of luck and thank you again for your support.

These are changing times in club life. I would appeal to everybody for maximum support for fund raising activates as arranged. We may have to re-examine our club revenues, support for any such activities will be crucial.

I thank our sponsors; Rye Valley Foods who have been a rock behind the club, their support in particular has contributed to our success. To our other sponsors, Interface FLOR, Chemical Direct, Reward Struct – Sure Ltd and Eurospar Barnhall, your assistance is greatly appreciated also. Indeed to everyone who contributes to the club, I thank you!

I look forward to working with N.U.I Maynooth and strengthen bridges between the two of us in relation to bring new blood to this great club.

I extend a welcome to all visitors to our club and hope you enjoy your visit to us. We wish you success in your season at every other venue you visit, we will welcome you and reward you with hospitality and hope you don’t have the burden of points to take away with you.

To the I.R.F.U I say, do not forget, Club rugby is the foundation of the game.

I thank the executive for their hard work, commitment and support. Remember the club is not about any individual, we all make the club what it is and what it can be. I look forward to the season and working with you.
