This Sunday at 12pm will see our Ladies 1st XV take on Old Belvedere RFC in the Leinster League Div 1 at home in Parsonstown.

After a great pre-season camp and with some talented new players joining the NUIM Barnhall RFC family our ladies are geared up a successful League campaign. With new Captain Georgina Mousley leading the Babes and former Ladies star Maria Boylan taking on the managers role the ladies team will be well equipped to handle the tough opposition ahead of them. As new Ladies head coach and former Blue Bull himself Neil Beatty said “The ladies have really stepped up in training to get ready for the start of the league, the passion and commitment of the team will really show our ladies are force not to be taken for granted”.

When asked how the transition from coaching a Winning mens Junior rugby team to an up and coming senior ladies team was going, Neil proudly replied, ” The transition has been easy as the whole team has the same winning mentality and drive as any of the mens teams in the club, Our Babes are already a success by winning the Leinster Div 3 title in 2011 and also winning the Leinster Development title in their first year, so the Babes know how to win and they want to continue winning”.

With a tough opening game against Old Belvedere this Sunday it will be a great first test for the fired up Babes.

Please come over to Parsonstown this Sunday and Show your support for your NUIM Barnhall Babes.

Everyone in NUIM Barnhall RFC wishes them all the best for a great season and we know they will do us proud.

After the game we will also have on the big screen, the All Ireland football final with our neighbours Dublin doing battle with our county cousins Mayo from 3.30pm
