We here at NUIM Barnhall RFC would like to congratulate former Nuim Barnhall babe Orla Fitzsimons on receiving her first International cap for the Ireland Ladies team in Friday night in Ashbourne.
Orla really shined for Ireland as they beat the Scots with a record breaking score line of 59-0.
Orla started playing rugby for NUIM Barnhall in 2007, in what was the babes inaugural year. Orla’s talent for the game was evident from a very early stage and she was a key player in guiding the babes to a league final in their very first year.
Orla continued to flourish and was recognised within the club by winning the coveted Player of the year award for two consecutive years.
We are all very proud of her achievements firstly with Leinster and now in the green of Ireland. She stands testament to the fact that hard work and dedication really can make dreams come true.
There will be a strong contingent of babes shouting her on when we travel to the aviva stadium on March the 8th to support the girls in green in their first ever game to be held in the prestigious ground….COYGIG
