We hope your Supporters gear is washed , ironed and pressed because this weekend sees a most of our teams start their league campaigns for the new season.
Last night in the Club the new Captains were announced for the coming season and everyone in NUIM Barnhall RFC wishes them the very best and we know they will lead our teams with pride and honour for the club.
When we asked our Head Coach Dennis Bowes on his thoughts for the coming weekend and the season he replied, ” It has been a long tough pre-season but all our players and coaches have put a tremendous amount of work in and it now it up to them to go out and show the pride and passion of the club on the field and put that training to work in the leagues”.
The New Captains are:
Barry Dunne leads the Premier A squad for his second year and will hope to continue the great leadership he showed last season when he lead his team to promotion to Div 2a in the AIL.
Stephen Dwyer leads the Premier U20’s in his first year leading the U20’s and follows in the footsteps of his dad Martin who also lead the Blue Bulls back in 1993-1995.
Eoin O’Sullivan leads the Premier B squad for another season and with his wealth of experience should bring great success for the premier b squad this season.
Matt Crehan leads the Development team this year and as a former player of the year knows how to win and knows what it takes to be successful in this division.
Conor Moloney leads the Butchers squad for his second year and hopes to build on the great finish his lads had last season.
Giena Mousley leads the Ladies 1st 1XV for the first time hopes to bring more silverware home to Parsonstown for the Babes.
Our Development Squad kick off tonight at 8pm against Suttonians away in the first of the Div 5 matches of the season.
On Saturday it’s the big one with our Premier A side going down to limerick to do battle with Bruff RFC in the first match of the AIL season.
Also on Saturday we see our Butchers away to Blackrock College at 3pm in the first of their league games.
Our U13’s play local neighbours North Kildare RFC away in a friendly at 11am.
On Sunday our Ladies are away to Railway union RFC in the second of their League Matches.
Our U20’s are also in action on Sunday at home in Parsonstown when they host Dublin University in the final of their pre-season friendlies.
A lot of rugby this weekend, so please get out and support your teams and lets make it a great Blue Bull Weekend.
