I was delighted to be selected as captain of the men’s senior team this year.
During my time in MU Barnhall I’ve had the opportunity to play with and learn from two previous captains – Tom McKeown and Gareth Murray, both of whom retired at the end of last season after a combined service of 30+ years. These leaders have left a strong legacy and I want to thank them for the immense contribution that they have made to the club.
The playoff final at the end of last season was a great occasion. We lost out narrowly, but it gave the team the motivation to go one step further this year and secure promotion to AIL Division 1B.
I have no doubt that we will continue to have plenty of support from everyone in the club and we are really grateful for this. We will do our best to make the club, our families and friends proud this season.
