President Paul Murphy MU Barnhall RFC President 2025/26

Dear Members, Players, Coaches and Supporters,

It is a tremendous honour to serve as Club President of MU Barnhall RFC for the 2025/26 season. My family first became involved with the club in 2001, and next year marks our 25th year of connection with this flourishing community, a milestone that fills me both with reflection and excitement for what lies ahead. I’ve had the privilege of experiencing the values and ethos of MU Barnhall firsthand over the years and it is clear that this is more than just a rugby club; it’s a place where selfless and diligent people come together to provide a welcome to the communities of Leixlip, Celbridge, Lucan and Maynooth, and other surrounding areas through the medium of rugby.

As I begin my presidency I will ensure the club will continue to be a welcoming place for all our members, supporters, families and visitors alike. I will continue to build strong relationships with our surrounding communities, neighbouring sports teams and local businesses, as our club is strongest when we connect beyond our boundaries.

One of my personal highlights in recent years was the Buffaloes’ trip to Edinburgh. It captured everything MU Barnhall RFC stands for; the joy of rugby, inclusion and dedication to enhance our rugby skills. I’m reminded again of the power of sport and how it unites us all.

To all of our players and coaches I wish you all the very best for the coming season. Represent our club colours on the pitch with pride and passion. You are all part of a rich history of people who wore the jersey for MU Barnhall in the past and be aware that you are actively building the future for the next generation of players to come. May your talent and teamwork shine through in every match, and let’s embrace the challenges, celebrate the victories and learn from every experience along the way.

At the beginning of this season I would like to acknowledge and sincerely thank all of our club committees, coaches and club members who continue to contribute to the running of the club on a daily basis. Your contribution is the lifeblood of this club, and every achievement is built upon your tireless devotion.

May our club continue to thrive and achieve distinction for years to come.

Go raibh míle maith agat.

Neart in ár ngéag,

Paul Murphy

MU Barnhall RFC President 2025/26
