Dear members and friends,
As we are coming to the end of the 2010-2011 rugby year in NUIM Barnhall We can reflect on the year with a great deal of pride. We had many new players join the club and the club has received many accolades and honors both on and off the pitch. All the way through the club we had successes from the minis to the senior first team all achieved better than expected results and most importantly we all had a bit of fun at the same time.
This year saw was a new departure for NUIM Barnhall as with the name change we also had a change of approach and a deeper involvement with the National University of Ireland in Maynooth. The last game of the league for the first squad was a home game played in the Maynooth Campus and this game attracted the largest crowd for a Barnhall game for many years. The team responded to the support magnificently and we won the game beating Instonians RFC and preventing them from winning the division 3 league.
I would like to thank all who contributed in any way to the success of NUIM Barnhall this year. I would also like to ask for a favor in the form of your support for the final major fund raising activity of the season. This Saturday the 4th of June and the following Saturday the 11th of June we will be providing a bring centre facility for unwanted metal items in the Club grounds at Parsonstown. This is an easy way to clean up the garden or to be rid of some old heavy metal objects that no longer serve their purpose for you. If you can look around your home and see if you have anything suitable to bring to the club we would be delighted to accept whatever metals you have. Also please contact or network with your friends and see can you help them to help the Club.
I would like to wish you a happy and safe summer. If I don’t see you at the Tag Rugby I will look forward to seeing you all again in the new season.
Yours in Rugby
Kevin Loftus.
President NUIM Barnhall RFC.
