After an absence of over 5 years the Damien Brennan memorial competition makes a pleasant return to Barnhall R.F.C.

The competition which runs for the U-13s will take place on Easter Saturday the 7th of April 2012. The competition is ran in memory of Damien Brennan brother of the infamous Trevor, Earl and Ronny Brennan. Damien had played mini’s rugby for Barnhall and had a very bright future ahead of him before he suddenly passed away at very young age from meningitis.

There will be over 300 people in the club on the day with teams such as Shannon, Garryowen, Corinthians, Monivea, U.L Bohs, North Kildare, Athy and Newbridge all taking part. The competition will be kicking off at 11.30am until 4.00pm with all three pitches setting the stage for the future of Irish rugby.

With this in mind the club needs your help running such a big event! Whether it be supporting the teams, helping keep the club clean, helping with the cooking or helping with the car parking every little will help on the day. If you can spare 5 minutes or 5 hours please contact Jonathan Geoghegan on 087-9265342 it would be very much appreciated. So please come along and help out. The club will be showing the Leinster Heineken Cup match after the tournament, no better way to quench your thirst and cheer on Leinster into the next round.

Best regards,

Jonathan.
